Men's Support Group/ Bible study
Open to all the men of the church and is an opportunity to get to know other men and share your faith each week. We will have a time of devotion, prayer, and sharing and then we will have a time of study in the gospel of Mark for the first few weeks. We will have different men leading each week as we study together and learn how we can better serve in the Kingdom of God. Remember, all men are invited and the coffee and treats will be good.
WOMEN'S WEDNESDAY STUDY GROUP
The women's Bible study group meets at 10:00 am in the adult classroom (room 132). The group will share in a Bible study of various topics.
CLCC WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY PREPARES HYGIENE KITS
The Wednesday Women’s Bible Study put together 18 hygiene kits recently as a tangible response to the needs of the disaster victims in Haiti. We learned about the need for kits through Week of Compassion (www.weekofcompassion.org/partners). Week of Compassion works through a remarkable network of church partner organizations and partnerships that insures that our response to humanitarian needs in the world is efficient, effective and faithful. Through these partnerships Disciples are able to join a tapestry of caring that brings help and hope to hurting people in every corner of the world. The hygiene kits were sent to Church World Service, one of these partners, for distribution. It is our prayer that the kits will help alleviate a bit of the suffering our brothers and sisters in Haiti are experiencing. Thanks to those who contributed the items and the money to ship the kits. If others are interested in preparing kits this website will be useful: www.churchworldservice.org/site/PageServer?pagename=kits_hygiene
Emotions Anonymous Meetings
Beginning Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 1 p.m. the International Organization of Emotions Anonymous (EA) will begin weekly meetings at Cherry Log Christian Church.
EA was created by a group of individuals who discovered a new way to live by working the Twelve Step program originally created for Alcoholics Anonymous, and more recently adapted for people with emotional issues and challenges.
You are invited to discover, as many have, that our EA fellowship of weekly meetings is warm, friendly, and can be a healthy way of achieving and maintaining emotional health. The Twelve Steps and the Twelve Traditions are our guides for meeting and for living one day at a time.
EA is a non-profit organization supported by voluntary contributions of the members. For further information, please call Ed Boye, 423-496-9878, or by email japeb@bellsouth.net
