Elementary Explorer is for all Cherry Log children in 2nd through 5th grades…especially those “graduating” from Godly Play. We begin at 9:30-10:45am on Sunday morning, The elementary classroom is named “The Grove.”  

Elementary Explorers leads children into a deeper relationship with God, instills in children spiritual practices to form lifelong habits, encourages children to respond to God, and provides an experience of vital community.  A specially prepared worship environment and Biblical storytelling continue to be foundation, just as in Godly Play.  Children’s responses to the Word of God are broadened and deepened to include spiritual practices such as  journaling and writing, Bible study and  Lectio Divina, guided meditations and prayer, labyrinth work and creative liturgical art, puzzle solving and model building.  This program allows our children to benefit from the great wealth of talent and experience we are blessed with among the people of God who call themselves Cherry Log Christian Church.
